This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Ich empfinde die Bilder ansprechrnd für Kinder, auch schön, dass soweit alles gereimt ist。 Die Intention, dass man nicht immer von seinem eigenen Standpunkt aus gehen soll, den Egozentrismus außer acht lassen muss, wenn es um andere geht und mehr Anhaltspunkte benötigt, um das Ganze zu sehen, ist schön und ansprechend dargestellt。 Allerdings nervt mich dieser kleine Affe, der nur am meckern ist, nicht einmal danke sagt und sogar, wenn es endlich auf sein Familiemittglied trifft noch unfassbar frec Ich empfinde die Bilder ansprechrnd für Kinder, auch schön, dass soweit alles gereimt ist。 Die Intention, dass man nicht immer von seinem eigenen Standpunkt aus gehen soll, den Egozentrismus außer acht lassen muss, wenn es um andere geht und mehr Anhaltspunkte benötigt, um das Ganze zu sehen, ist schön und ansprechend dargestellt。 Allerdings nervt mich dieser kleine Affe, der nur am meckern ist, nicht einmal danke sagt und sogar, wenn es endlich auf sein Familiemittglied trifft noch unfassbar frech gegenüber seinem Helfer ist。Eine blödere Botschaft hätte nicht an Kinder mitübermittelt werden können。Die Hauptmoral geht so total verloren。Dankbarkeit wird nicht einmal angemerkt。 。。。more

The best picture book ever!

Used this during shared reading in reception。 The kids absolutely loved it! Brilliant for speaking and listening getting the children to predict the next animal the monkey would go to and why。 Also good text to use to cover some words up, to see if the children can predict what is missing to make the sentence make sense。 The kids loved this one and so did I

“My Mum isn’t a great grey hunk。 She hasn’t got tusks or a curly trunk。 She doesn’t have great thick baggy knees。 And anyway, her tail coils round trees。”“…None of my babies look like me。 She she looks like you! What animals would we find in the story then?Cross over into drama – using the words in the books, move and act like the animals in the book。 What noises do you think they make? The butterfly’s babies do not look like her。 Can we find other animals where their babies don’t look like them?EnglishWrite another page of the book with a different jungle animal。 Doing one as a class first as the style of writing and descriptive words used。 Using the page of story, the class created, give them their own copy and they create the pictures to go along with it。 Like those in the book。Cross over into drama – using the words in the books, move and act like the animals in the book。 What noises do you think they make? How would you describe your mum, dad, or person at home? Write some facts and draw a picture of them。MathsUse the number of caterpillars on one of the final pages for calculations。GeographyScience crossover - Create a map of the jungle。 Think about where the animals would live, what do they need to eat and drink? This book is such a vibe and funny。 A butterfly is helping a baby monkey look for his mom。 Baby monkey is describing his mother's characteristics and butterfly is trying to look for anyone matching the same description。 This book is funny when butterfly goes to a different animal other than a monkey。 The rhymes are so funny and a vibe。 I also loves the illsutrations。 This book is such a vibe and funny。 A butterfly is helping a baby monkey look for his mom。 Baby monkey is describing his mother's characteristics and butterfly is trying to look for anyone matching the same description。 This book is funny when butterfly goes to a different animal other than a monkey。 The rhymes are so funny and a vibe。 I also loves the illsutrations。 。。。more

The story follows a monkey who has lost his Mummy and the emotions he feels as more and more time passes without him being able to find her。 A fabulous book to explore with Reception or lower KS1 to emphasise the importance of staying close to your loved ones。

Also written under the title "Monkey Puzzle"。 A lovely tale about how monkey has lost his mum and he seeks the aid of other jungle animals to help him find her。 A really bright, vibrant picture book that early readers would enjoy。 Contains lots of rhyme and could be sung as a song or read as a story。 Also written under the title "Monkey Puzzle"。 A lovely tale about how monkey has lost his mum and he seeks the aid of other jungle animals to help him find her。 A really bright, vibrant picture book that early readers would enjoy。 Contains lots of rhyme and could be sung as a song or read as a story。 。。。more

Monkey Puzzle is an extremely engaging picture book by Julia Donaldson。 It tells the story of a lost monkey who seeks help from a butterfly to find his mum。 They encounter many creatures in the jungle as the monkey tries to describe his mum。 But the butterfly keeps on finding animals that only match the monkey’s descriptions。 Eventually, the monkey does reunite with his mum after many misunderstandings。 The pattern and sequence of their journey adds humour and the uncertainty gives children the Monkey Puzzle is an extremely engaging picture book by Julia Donaldson。 It tells the story of a lost monkey who seeks help from a butterfly to find his mum。 They encounter many creatures in the jungle as the monkey tries to describe his mum。 But the butterfly keeps on finding animals that only match the monkey’s descriptions。 Eventually, the monkey does reunite with his mum after many misunderstandings。 The pattern and sequence of their journey adds humour and the uncertainty gives children the opportunity to make predictions about the animals that follow in the story。As in many of her picture books, Julia Donaldson has cleverly incorporated repetition and rhyme, such as ‘no, no, no!’, keeping the reader engaged。 The illustrations are beautifully matched to the descriptions, so it would be lovely to introduce children in the younger years to descriptive writing and is also a great picture book to read to children with EAL。 The cross curricular links are endless with this book, with Art and Design links being the most enjoyable。 。。。more

This book tells the story of a monkey searching for its mother, with the help of a butterfly。 The monkey describes features of his mother to the butterfly and he finds different animals with these characteristics。 The phrase "no, no, no" is repeated on each page, meaning children can quickly recognise the pattern and read along with the book。I would suggest using this book with early years or year 1。 It could be used to familiarise children with different animals。 It could also be used to teach This book tells the story of a monkey searching for its mother, with the help of a butterfly。 The monkey describes features of his mother to the butterfly and he finds different animals with these characteristics。 The phrase "no, no, no" is repeated on each page, meaning children can quickly recognise the pattern and read along with the book。I would suggest using this book with early years or year 1。 It could be used to familiarise children with different animals。 It could also be used to teach children about character building, showing that many different animals share characteristics。This could be further linked to the story of 'little red riding hood', in which the grandma and the wolf share characteristics (sleeping in the bed, wearing the nightgown) although they also have different characteristics (big teeth, big ears)。After reading these stories I would ask the children to create a "role-on-the wall" of different familiar characters before creating their own character as a class to write different stories around。 。。。more

Another brilliant picture book by Donaldson and Scheffler。A lost baby monkey seeks help from a butterfly as they try and reunite with their mother。The clever aspect of this tale is the butterfly being unsure who they're looking for as their babies differ from them。It's a great educational journey throughout the jungle as the pair meet a variety of species。 Another brilliant picture book by Donaldson and Scheffler。A lost baby monkey seeks help from a butterfly as they try and reunite with their mother。The clever aspect of this tale is the butterfly being unsure who they're looking for as their babies differ from them。It's a great educational journey throughout the jungle as the pair meet a variety of species。 。。。more

This dynamic author and illustrator duo remains unstoppable。 Love the rhyme, the repetition and the suspense building as the story develops。

I loved this book when I was growing up。 I used this book on placement where I read it to a foundation stage class at the end of the school day。 This book is perfect for foundation stage children as it explores the theme of being lost and therefore children can make effective connections by comparing it to their own life if they have ever lost their mum or dad。 Throughout the book there is evidence of repetition and rhyming, which makes it a lovely book to read aloud to the class。 I asked variou I loved this book when I was growing up。 I used this book on placement where I read it to a foundation stage class at the end of the school day。 This book is perfect for foundation stage children as it explores the theme of being lost and therefore children can make effective connections by comparing it to their own life if they have ever lost their mum or dad。 Throughout the book there is evidence of repetition and rhyming, which makes it a lovely book to read aloud to the class。 I asked various questions when reading it out loud, to spark interest in the children and really involve them in the reading session。 The book therefore creates perfect opportunities to stop and spark discussion。 For example, encouraging the children to predict which animal they think will come next and if they think the monkey will find his mum。 I felt like the book was a perfect book to read to children as it was in line with their current topic; 'Paws Claws and Whiskers'。 The book is therefore great for describing animals' features such as their size, colour, their habitat etc。 。。。more
